Troubleshooting

The most common questions, most of them learned from thousands of print-plugin user reports.

I cannot see the crop marks in my export

Vector marks live in the slug area outside the bleed. If you exported the frame with Figma's own export instead of the plugin's PDF tab, there is no slug and no marks. Export from the PDF tab with Draw vector crop marks enabled, and check the Preview page 1 button first: what you see there is what exports.

The bleed looks like it did nothing

Bleed is just extra artwork that gets cut away, so in the exported file it looks like the design continues past the trim, which is the point. Enable Draw visible trim line if you or your shop want to see where the cut lands.

My PDF is the wrong physical size

Your frame was probably designed at "300 DPI" pixel dimensions (for example 2550 x 3300 px for Letter). Figma is 72 px per inch, so that exports 4.2 times too large. Use Setup → Rescale and it lands at true size with no image quality lost. See physical sizing.

Export says a page will be auto-downsampled

The page is too large to rasterize at the requested DPI on your machine. The export still works at the effective DPI shown. If the frame is huge because of the wrong-DPI mistake above, rescale it and you get full resolution back.

Colors look duller than on screen

That is CMYK, not a bug. Presses cannot reproduce the most vivid RGB colors. Use the soft proof to see the shift before printing, and the out-of-gamut mode to find which exact areas move most.

Text prints slightly soft

PDF pages are flattened raster, so text sharpness depends on export DPI. Use 600 DPI for pages with small text, or export the vector RGB PDF from the Raster tab and let the shop convert color.

Blank spots or artifacts after printing

This class of bug comes from transparency and blend modes surviving into vector PDFs, which some RIPs mishandle. Print Ready flattens every page by design, so if your shop reports artifacts, the file is not the cause; ask them to check their imposition software.

Where did my frames go after renaming them?

Nowhere. The plugin does not depend on frame names; bleed metadata is stored as plugin data inside the file. Use Select print frames in the PDF tab to find every plugin-made frame on the page.
